Welcome to weekend #5, Sep 15-18, at the U pick.
This is a biggy weekend at the farm. 2 great fruits are up for picking this weekend and there is plenty to go around!
To start off we have the Liberty apple, an all time crowd pleaser of a McIntosh cross. Sweet/tart and Very crunchy! A tip for you Liberty fans who pick in bulk to store them. The first pick is the ideal time to get them for storage.
The other big winner we have this weekend is the Mishirasu Asian pear. This is our largest pear and the most versatile. Not only sweet and crunchy, like most Asian pears for fresh eating, but this pear is also excellent for processing. We have both dryed and canned them for many years.
Also available this weekend are the Karmijn, Kidds Orange Red, Sweet 16, Belmac, Zabergau Reinette and Scarlet Ohara apples.
There are still a lot of great fruits left from last week too: Spartan, Bramley, Cortland and Macoun apples and Orcas and Gem summer pears.
Come out and fill your wagons!

Update for the U Pick.... some of you may have noticed that the projected harvest chart has changed many times. It is moving up, in days, and looking like its going to be a short U pick season. This is just simply due to the weather, hot, sunny, no real rain since April. We are at the mercy of the weather and we do hope that everyone can still make plans to fit in a visit this year.

Welcome to week 10,  Sep 21, 2023 at the Bellevue Thursday Farmers Market. New varieties for the day are Sweet 16, Karmijn, Tickled Pink and Liberty
(pictured). Returning from last week are Cortland and Bramley's.
We will also have more of our Orcas and Gem summer pears.

Welcome to weekend #6, Sep 22-25, at the U pick.
New on the picking list this weekend are Winter Mac (pictured), Jonagold, Melrose, Boskoop, Hawaii, King apples and Comice pears.
Still plenty of Liberty to be had so dont miss out on those! Also from last week are the Karmijn, Scarlet Ohara, Cortland, Kidd's Orange Red and Mishirasu Asian pear.

Welcome to week 11,  Sep 28, 2023 at the Bellevue Thursday Farmers Market. Today, at the market, we will be bringing Cortland, Liberty, Bramley, Sweet 16, Karmijn and Cosmic Crisp.
We will also have the Gem pear (pictured).
This will be your last chance for Cortland and Bramley.
Spotlight on Karmijn.... Karmijn is a close cross of Cox Orange Pippin. Cox is the British apple that breeders love to use to try and impart the rich. arromatic, spicy flavor into other varieties. For all practical purposes Karmijn is almost like a Cox in every way.... except the size. Cox tend to be small, Karmijns tend to be large.

Welcome to weekend #7, Sep 29-Oct 2, at the U pick.
For those who havent been following along, next weekend will be the last weekend of the season for u pick.
Here is what we have for picking this weekend: New for the week are Northern Spy, Calville Blanc, Arlie Red apples and the last pear of the season, Olympic Asian pear.
Still available on the trees are Liberty, Winter Mac, Puget Spice Crab (pictured), Boskoop, Karmijn and Scarlet Ohara apples as well as Comice pears.

we will have Liberty, Hawaii, Karmijn, Bramley, Grenadine and Kidd's Orange Red apples.
For pears we have the Gem pear and the Shin Li Asian pear.
Spotlight on Bramley's Seedling.....  Bramley is the #1 baking apple in Britain. The Bramley is synonymous with cooking in Britain and a lot of Europe. Its very dense and super tart flesh always leaves plenty of appley flavor in any cooking situation.

Welcome to weekend #8, Oct 6-9, at the U pick.
This is our last u pick weekend folks,
The farm will be closed after this weekend
New varieties for this weekend will be Braeburn, Winesap, Quebec Belle and Yellow Belleflower.
Still available on the trees are Boskoop, Northern Spy, Arlie Red and Calville Blanc.
There are also still plenty of the Olympic Asian pears to be picked.

Olympic

U Pick is closed for the season

Welcome to week 13, Oct 12, 2023 at the Bellevue Thursday Farmers Market. Today, at the market, we will have Jonagold (pictured), Melrose, Liberty, Karmijn and Arlie Red.
For pears we will have the Gem and the Shin Li Asian pear.
Spotlight on Jonagold.... Jonagold is one of only a few truly great all purpose apples. A mix of Jonathan and Golden D., the Jonagold is just as great eating out of hand as it is baking in a crisp or making some apple sauce. Your not likely to find a good one in the grocery store though, you need to buy them locally. Jonagold is a delicate variety that doesnt like the climate of eastern WA.

Welcome to week 14, Oct 19, 2023 at the Bellevue Thursday Farmers Market. Well its time to wrap this thing up! This is the last Thursday market of the season so here we go.... we will be bringing Jonagold, Melrose, Boskoop, Winter Mac, Arlie Red and Scarlet Ohara.
We will also have Mishirasu Asian pears(pictured) and a few Shin Li Asian pear.
